Rather than going by his hated first name, Theofilieos Hawke simply is known as "Hawke". He is very introverted, often appearing spacey and absent to those around him, as he is usually in deep connection with the land rather than paying attention to the people speaking. 

He was raised in Shaemoor alongside an older sister and two younger brothers, but from a very young age was far more interested in plants and wildlife than people. He always felt a strong connection to the Goddess Melandru, and he would often stray from their farmlands and wander into the wooded areas to commune with nature and his Goddess. 

One of his closest friends is the priestess of Grenth, Karenna, having known her from a fairly young age and given her understanding of his quiet, passive nature.

At age 11, he became an apprentice to a priestess of Melandru, and studied diligently. When he was of age and trained well enough to become a priest of his own, he decided to travel nomadically, learning and teaching all he could as he traveled.

After the attack on the World Summit, he was approached by Talæesyn to create a living weapon from a fallen bough of the Pale Tree. He succeeded, crafting Kudzu. 

During the fight in Maguuma, he accompanied Karenna into the jungle to give support to the living and tend to the fallen.
